Swamp Song Lyrics

Way down South where the swamp lands grow
I was messing where nobody goes
fishing for my dinner in a craw daddy bed
I fell in and I broke my neck
when down from from the bottom of the murkey depths
a girl stood up and stole my breath
she said "Hey mon ami, gotta come with me
don't be alarmed but you got something i need
I'm happy to have met you, my name is Jess
I think it's time we left"
(Chorus)
Tell my family, tell my kin
I won't be coming home again
The grim reapers name is Jess
she's been fair and I feel quite blessed
Eyes like fire and skin like ice

Sweet water and head lights
guiding our way to a secret hole
to a place where she'd take my soul
from the land of the living
to the land of the dead
When I heard this no tears were shed
The worms conspire
the life I had now has expired
bathed in fire
to live again is my desire
(Chorus)
Tell my family, tell my kin
I won't be coming home again
The grim reapers name is Jess
she's been fair and I feel quite blessed
Like a candle my flame is out
certain of this
there is no doubt
There's just one thing that remains to be known
will I float like a log or sink like a stone!
The worms conspire
the life I had now has expired
bathed in fire
to live again is my desire
(Chorus:)
Tell my family, tell my kin
I won't be coming home again
the grim reapers name is Jess
she's been fair and I feel quite blessed

Sulek is an indie band from Wisconsin formed in 2005 by Chris Winberg(drums), Patrick Hocter(guitar/vocals), and David Kelly(piano/banjo). The band technically didn't start though until a few recordings later when Russ McGowan(bass guitarist) joined. Through 2006- the band got some exposure online through Patrick's roommate Grey Gerling who used their music in his animations. This increased exposure prompted Sulek to release their first "real" album, "Songs From the Doctor's Office"
