Sweet Release Lyrics

Destiny's a road we ride
Sight unseen, our thoughts untried
Through the years, a million miles
A trial of errors, a life of trialsThere's a sign along the highway
There's a candle by my bed
There's a face in the doorway
There's a price on my headSweet release, come in peace
Sweet release, won't you carry me on?
Sweet release, my falls increase
Sweet release, I'm not that strongSex machine will break you down
Strip you clean and take your crown
Wasted nights rise and fall
One-way lights, they hide it allNow I stand before the mirror
Hold the candle to my face
I can feel the scars burnin'
But they don't leave a traceSweet release, rest in peace
Sweet release, I toss and turn
Sweet release, come and teach me

Sweet release, we never learnBlack and white is black and red
None are right but some are dead
Through every life the war drags on
Our hopes and dreams lie ripped and tornSweet release, give us peace
Sweet release, won't you carry me on?
Sweet release, will it never cease?
Sweet release, can't you see I'm not that strong?

Billy Squier (born May 12, 1950, in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts) is a rock musician. Squier had a string of arena rock and power ballad hits in the 1980s. He is probably best known for the song "The Stroke" on his 1981 album release Don't Say No, which has been certified as Triple-Platinum by the RIAA. Other hits include "Lonely Is The Night", "Everybody Wants You", "Rock Me Tonite" and "In The Dark". Squier left the music industry in the mid-1990s, due in part to issues with his label. He has been active in the 2000s, touring both as a single artist and as a member of the 'Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band'. Before fronting the band titled in his name, Squire was the frontman of the power pop group Piper.
