The Megaphone State from Helsinki, Finland is dropping some delicious golden age hiphop derived from soul, not from typical 90's machinery. Long drooping basslines, a touch of funk, crackling vinyl, and slow, actual drumkit beats mark The Megaphone State's sounds. The flow trumps everything, so you’re not in for a neosoul The Roots experience. This is hiphop alright, only smoother. And despite their name, nothing exceeds a moderate decibel.
