Take What's Yours Lyrics

I've come to far to let you take this from me,
and I know it's for the best, it wasn't meant to be
You can talk behind my back if that's what gets you by.
It's not hard to see the truth if you read between the lines. My patience has been slipping as our friendship fades away
And you will hear me say, "Take what's yours, but keep it far from me"
I've learned from my mistakesWanted to see how far my dream would take me,
While you manipulate your friends and think no one can see
Heart will win over pride, how can you be so blind?
It's not hard to see the truth: it was such a waste of timeMy patience has been slipping as our friendship fades away
And you will hear me say, "Take what's yours, but keep it far from me"
I've learned from my mistakes: People never change, people never changeYou ran from all your problems, and you can't deny you've ruined everything with all your lies
You almost broke me down, but I'm smarter now than I ever was before
You can play your game, but you don't fool me anymore, you don't fool me anymore

Much The Same (1999-2007) was a punk rock band from the suburbs of Chicago, IL. Their style is based on the fast, melodic skate punk of the mid-to-late 1990's made popular by bands such as NOFX, Lagwagon, and No Use For A Name. The band began in 1999 under the name Don't Look Down and changed to Much The Same in 2001 after a legal dispute with the New Jersey based band called Don't Look Down. Their first album, Quitters Never Win, was released on Anti-Flag's A-F Records in 2003. The band then moved to Nitro Records to release their sophomore effort, Survive, in 2006.
