Tears All Over Town Lyrics

Ride the subway home
Pretend that you're not home
When somebody calls you
But nobody calls youAnd it's me who loves you still
And I always willBut there are tears all over town
Too many tears all over this town
There are tears all over town
Too many tearsOnce there were trumpets in the air
And confetti in your hair
And I knew where I belonged
Now I'm singing you this songAnd every star we felt that night
We reached for it all, you know we triedBut there are tears all over town
Too many tears all over this town
There are tears all over town
Too many tearsI'm scattered like newspapers all over the streets
I see your face in everyone I meet
I'm avoiding the corners, I'm avoiding your name
I know that I loved you but I loved you in vainAnd this city's too small for two

My melancholy friend and youAnd these tears all over town
Too many tears all over this town
Tears all over town
Too many tears all over this town
Too many tearsToo many tears
Too many tears

Born Erin Moran, in New Jersey, USA, she began her musical career singing backing vocals and playing keyboards for singer/songwriter Francis Dunnery and got the chance to tour Great Britain. In 1999, she teamed with DJ Sae One under the name Leomoon, and they released one self-titled electro-folk album. In 2001, she issued her debut EP, Tears All Over Town on Le Grand Magistery. A chance meeting with Richard Hawley (Pulp, Longpigs) led her to start recording what would become her proper first album. The album simply called A Girl Called Eddy subsequently appeared on Anti in August 2004.
