The Long Goodbye Lyrics

You stormed my winter palace
You rid my heart of every bit of malice, baby
You're how I won the war
Now your bags are packed, you're walking out the door
In every way there is nothing to say anymoreSo this is the long goodbye
Maybe the tears will never dry
This is the long goodbyeTake your records, leave me mine
You're the one who said
We lived it all on borrowed time
So at the end of the day
There was nothing to say anymoreThis is the long goodbye
Maybe the tears will never dry
This is the long goodbye
Leaving the past and you behind
This is the long goodbyeSo take a good look, make it last
And when you've found the moment's past
Just remember that
Nobody loved you like me

Nobody loved you like me
Nobody loved you like me
Nobody loved you like meThis is the long goodbye
Maybe the tears will never dry
This is the long goodbye
Leaving the past and you behind
This is the long goodbye
I'm outta words on other times
This is the long goodbyeThis is the long goodbye
This is the long goodbye

Born Erin Moran, in New Jersey, USA, she began her musical career singing backing vocals and playing keyboards for singer/songwriter Francis Dunnery and got the chance to tour Great Britain. In 1999, she teamed with DJ Sae One under the name Leomoon, and they released one self-titled electro-folk album. In 2001, she issued her debut EP, Tears All Over Town on Le Grand Magistery. A chance meeting with Richard Hawley (Pulp, Longpigs) led her to start recording what would become her proper first album. The album simply called A Girl Called Eddy subsequently appeared on Anti in August 2004.
