The Best that Ever Did It (Instrumental) Lyrics

top shoppin
... often
dusty fingers in crase
pass to petroleum plates
coloured out
patiently waiting
for the moody grove to take
bros and the drums skate
from the splash to the ice blue range
with the frost in the dash
bending corners
steering wheels spinning
from the grillin the beginnin
to the fifth wheel like the ending
moonroof between to the sunlight
capture each curl
from the smoking again
riding high

incredible vibes
manufactured by the one man band
on the mp
chap masters supreme beat maker
jean rage creator
rollin the dutch girls
then it's back to the basement
cgp
live from the headphones
cause it ain't ready to go
till jimmy say it's ready to go
and these are some things i will never forget
like roof is splashing fruit punch in the bm
and i'm proud to be a part of
the lifestyle of a marter
legend of life
keeping it pure
rifmatik rest in peace
sap with the shore
crop to the finest imprement
for you ands yours to bang out
now turn it up

J Dilla was born James Dewitt Yancey on February 7, 1974 in Detroit, Michigan, to Maureen and Beverly Yancey. From the onset, music was intrinsic to Jay's life. His mother Maureen was an accomplished singer and lover of classical music and opera. His father Beverly was a gifted vocalist and bass player fond of vocal harmonies and jazz, who played professionally for 25 years before taking a job at Ford. A two-year-old Jay would gurgle along in perfect pitch to the sound of his father practicing on his upright bass until it lulled him to sleep.
