The Center Lyrics

I wanna knowI got a feeling as a matter of fact
Its like my whole world just came under attack
And I hear can a voice tellin me to turn back
Cause I must be onto somethinIt happens every single time I get close to
Everything I know is good and right and so true
Its like somebody doesnt want me to love You
And I must be onto somethinSo help me hold on
Help me be strong
Cause I dont wanna move
Unless You move meI wanna know how it feels to be
Standing in the center of Your will for me
I wanna know what surrender means
Keep me in the center of Your will for me
Keep me in the centerGod forbid, I start to think Im on a roll now
Cause I do believe there is a battle for my soul now
And I can feel the world fighting for control now
I must be onto somethinSo help me hold on just a little bit longer
Cause all the struggles gonna do is make me stronger

This is the everyday prayer of my heart
I just wanna stay where You areI wanna know how it feels to be
Standing in the center of Your will for me
I wanna know what surrender means
Keep me in the center of Your will for meLord, help me hold on
Help me be strong
'Cause I dont wanna move
Unless You move me, yeah, yeahOh, I wanna know how it feels to be
Standing in the center of Your will for me
I wanna know what surrender means
Keep me in the center of Your will for, will for meI wanna know
I surrender, I surrender
I wanna knowYou gotta help me hold on
Help me, help me hold on
Yeah, help me hold on

The Rhythm Devils are a band led by Grateful Dead drummers Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart. As a duo, they were recruited by director Francis Ford Coppola to record the soundtrack to the film "Apocalypse Now". From 1979 to 1980, Hart and Kreutzmann recorded sessions at the Grateful Dead's Marin County studios and Hart's barn in Novato. The process included improvising jungle sounds as they watched the film at the same time. In October 1990, Rykodisc re-released the original 1983 LP, "The Apocalypse Now Sessions”.
