The Chess Hotel Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
In my town, there's a piece of hell
A little dig called The Chess Hotel
You can move on in and be a small town slave
Or you can get out now if you're feeling braveShake a little shake
Give a little give
Take a little chance on the runDon't let no one forget
Don't let mama regret
Give your love and your sweat
Till you're shiningMake the best of your time
Don't you finish your prime

Give your all and a dime
Till you're shiningWell, there's Rachel down in room 103
Had her second child at seventeen
She's got every day to figure out
How the babies gonna do withoutShake a little shake
Give a little give
Take a little chance on the runDon't let no one forget
Don't let mama regret
Give your love and your sweat
Till you're shiningMake the best of your time
Don't you finish your prime
Give your all and a dime
Till you're shiningGet on out of the Chess Hotel, get on out
If you escape alive, you're doing wellGet out now, get out now
Get out now, get out now

The Elms were an American Rock And Roll band from Seymour, Indiana active from 2000-2010 under Sparrow/EMI Records and later Universal Records South. They were known for their breed of midwestern, rootsy rock, with the essence of the music of the 60's and 70's. Musically, the band has been compared by critics to The Black Crowes, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Cream for their blues-tinged, instrumentally sparse arrangements.
