Raised in the Midwest, and now residing in the Chi. Chikwe has shown a gift for words and rhythm since the days of rap battling for popularity in the hallways of elementary school. Being blessed with growing up in the era of the 80’s when hip hop really took root in our musical landscape. He was grabbed by the bug early and nurtured by our hip hop forefathers. Guided by the musical spirits of X-Clan, Rakim, KRS One, Public Enemy, Too Short, Ice Cube, Tupac, and Cypress Hill… Chikwe’s tongue is both eclectic and forceful. With a love of spoken word, social justice, community building and a true revolutionary spirit, his music is written as a reaction to the world as he sees it. Simply trying to do justice to hip hop and for hip hop. In his music you will experience many dualities and the full spectrum of living life.
