The Family Lyrics

Okay, this song is called 'The family'
And we got a close family of people we're working with
And we appreciate them
And this is a really appropriate number
Tell it to the family
You see it growing day by day
You know you sell it to the people
Making music our own way
You know you see it in our faces
See us out at the coolest places
Tell it to the family, yeah
Going to a movie
Tickets cost you two dollar fifty cent
Take your favorite girlfriend
You know she's of a Mexican descent
Tell it to the family
I see it growing day by day
You know you sell it to the people

Making music our own way
You know you see it in our faces
I see us out at the coolest places
Tell it to the family, yeah
Catchin' waves at sunset
The water there is cool but awfully dirty
Kickin' back at coffee
The waitress there is rude but really pretty
Tell it to the family
I see it growing day by day
You know you sell it to the people
Making music our own way
You know you see it in our faces
I see us out at the coolest places
Tell it to the family, yeah
Break it down
Tell it to the family
I see it growing day by day
You know you sell it to the people
Making music our own way
You know you see it in our faces
I see us out at the coolest places
Tell it to the family, yeah
Tell it to the family
I see it growing day by day
You know you sell it to the people
Making music our own way
You know you see it in our faces
I see us out at the coolest places
Tell it to the family, yeah

1. The Flys (UK 1975-1980) They had been around since the mid seventies in the guise of Midnight Circus but with the times a changing however, they wisely changed their name to the more punkish' The Flys'. Ironically they were signed by EMI who had rejected them as Midnight Circus!
As opposed to the more traditional 1234 buzzsaw style of punk The Flys come at it from a different angle while still retaining the sense of urgency. Sounding like the Cure or vice versa on the brilliantly entitled single Love & Molotov Cocktail / Can I Crash Here / Civilization (1978 EMI).
