The Letter Lyrics

WRITER WAYNE CARSON THOMPSON
Gimme a ticket for an aeroplane
I ain't got time to take a fast train
Lonely days are gone I'm a goin' home
My baby jus' wrote me a letter
I don't care how much money I gotta spend
I got to get back to my baby again
Lonely days are gone I'm a goin' home
My baby jus' wrote me a letter
Well she wrote me a letter
Said she couldn't live without me no more
Listen mister can't you see
I gotta get back to my baby once more
Any way yeah
Gimme a ticket for an aeroplane
I ain't got time to take a fast train
Lonely days are gone I'm a goin' home

My baby jus' wrote me a letter
Well she wrote me a letter
Said she couldn't live without me no more
Listen mister can't you see
I gotta get back to my baby once more
Any way yeah
Gimme a ticket for an aeroplane
I ain't got time to take a fast train
Lonely days are gone I'm a goin' home
My baby jus' wrote me a letter
My baby jus' wrote me a letter

In 1985, Guigou Chenevier, drummer of the French group Etron Fou Leloublan, proposed the formation of a trio with fellow drummers Rick Brown (V-Effect, Fish & Roses, Run On) and Charles Hayward (This Heat, Camberwell Now). Tapes of ideas and parts were exchanged and a rehearsal period and short tour were scheduled. The first performance of the group was at the 1985 edition of the Musique Action Festival held in Vandoeuvres-les-Nancy. One piece, “3 Legs for 2 Birds”, from this performance is available of the vinyl release Musique Action Internationale 85 on Vand'Oeuvre.
