1) Midnight Circus is a electro/dance/rock band from Melbourne, Victoria that formed in 2006.

Inspired by the progressive electronic sounds of Australian groups like The Presets and Cut Copy, and the 80's rock legacy left behind by Icehouse, INXS and others, Midnight Circus represents the new wave of Australian rock.

Armed with a powerful set-list and an infectious stage presence, Midnight Circus is quickly building a reputation as one of the best live acts on the Melbourne music scene. Since moving from Perth to Melbourne, the Midnight Circus sound has progressed from guitar based power rock, to an exciting blend of electro rock that harnesses the band’s strong song writing talents with a serious dance floor edge.

Midnight Circus enjoyed an amazing 2009, riding the Triple J airwaves after spending 6 weeks at #1 on the Unearthed charts and playing at the Triple J Hottest 100 festival at the Esplanade Hotel, St Kilda. Headlining sold-out shows at Melbourne music institutions such as the Evelyn, Hi-Fi Bar, Tote, Revolver Upstairs and The Espy, Midnight Circus has stamped its footprint on the Melbourne local music scene and has recently returned from a west coast tour that included playing at the Summadayze festival in Perth.

2) Midnight Circus is a sleaze rock band that continued in the 1990s and 2000s the style of 1980s "hair metal".

The band released two albums in the 1990s independently: "Midnight Circus" (1994) and "Easy to Swallow" (1998).

In the 2000s they got signed by Perris Records, but released only one album, "Money Shot" in 2005.



3) An obscure folky progressive from the early-1970's. Although their debut single wasn't so hot, their move to the LP format saw them blossom considerably. It would seem as though the idea behind Midnight Circus, being a duo with the aid of session musicians, was to emulate the cosmic folk of acts on Pilz like Witthüser+Westrupp, but with an internationally appealing English vocal bias. A success indeed, but also a touch rockier and strongly influenced by Dieter Dierks' involvement in the sessions. The atmospheric tracks featuring Mellotron also recall The Moody Blues and early King Crimson.

Christian Bollmann has since become an accomplished ethno-musicologist, moving into the more ethereal realms of the new-age, and working as the duo Christian Bollmann & Michael Reimann.
