The Light Of Day Lyrics

I found a photograph of you and me
Drinking sangria somewhere by the sea
There's laughter in our eyes and dreams in our hearts
Before life waded in and tore it all apartWhen there's no more lies to hide behind
And no more tears to cry, I know we'll be alright
'Cause even though the skies above are cold and grey
I'm sure tomorrow we will see the light of dayI found some letters from a happier time
I smelled the scented pages and re-read the lines
Why must the summer always turn into the fall?
Why must we lose love to ever know love at all? When there's no more lies to hide behind
And no more tears to cry, I know we'll be alright
'Cause even though the skies above are cold and grey
I'm sure tomorrow we will see the light of day
The light of day shining through our window paneWhen there's no more lies to hide behind
And no more tears to cry, I know we'll be alright
'Cause even though the skies above are cold and grey
I'm sure tomorrow we will see the light of dayWhen there's no more lies to hide behind
And no more tears to cry, I know we'll be alright

'Cause even though the skies above are cold and grey
I'm sure tomorrow we will see the light of day
The light of day shining through our window pane

The Divine Comedy is a baroque pop band now based in Dublin, Ireland, fronted by Neil Hannon. Neil Hannon, Originally from Derry, has been the only ever-present member of the band, being its founder in 1989 when he was joined by John McCullagh and Kevin Traynor. Their first album, the heavily R.E.M.-influenced and now-deleted Fanfare for the Comic Muse, enjoyed little success though. A couple of equally unsuccessful EPs - Timewatch (1991); Europop (1992) - were to follow, with newly-recruited member John Allen handling lead vocals on some tracks.
