A Black DAY is a Colorado Springs collective comprised of four emcees, each on their own path with their own vision, and sound. Their camaraderie was proven on their first project Undercast, which served as their introduction. HipHopRollCall.com called the well received album “authentic, which is perhaps the greatest currency in the world of hip-hop, where real reigns supreme." The squad truly shines on stage, their entrancing energy palpable throughout, while the audience revels in their distinctive voices.
Much like everything that exists in the world, the four emcees, though strong on their own are even more powerful when they come together. A Black DAY exudes a power and focus reflective of the four elements, each individual using their voice and traits to create the uniquely influential sound. Meet A Black DAY:
HoTT – Air – With air comes breath and as an emcee, HoTT utilizes every ounce of his to tell a captivating and moving story. His ability to communicate with, engage and enthrall his audience may come from his grasp of the language, or it may come from his emanating intelligence, but his presence exudes the kind of light aura that can only exist with air.
HoTT's effortless flow can be heard through his solo projects, his work with Grey Sinatra and live band, Audible.
Jayoin or Djayo – Fire – The searing element has the ability to destroy, but from that destruction the opportunity for rebirth. Jayoin's passion is heated, and although the inferno may seem out of control it burns with intense purpose. This emcee's flame is reaching for a connection, seeking understanding and growth through the mental attachment that music can foster.
Jayoin's scorching voice can also be heard alongside other talented musicians in his two other groups Mad Trees and Fidel Redstar.
Kevin Mitchell – Earth – A solid foundation is the key to growth, without a firm surface from which to build, everything would ultimately collapse. Kevin Mitchell is the stability, the base and ultimately the nurturing force in the collective. His unshakable confidence is exuded through his articulate rhyme patterns and thoughtful subject matter.
Kevin Mitchell is also a part of AlreadydeaD and was a founding member of a former duo Accumen 1 with Big Samir of the ReMINDers.
Milogic – Water – The fluidity and intuition that emits from those that personify the liquid element can only be described as a gift. Milogic (pronounced my-logic) is an acronym, which means M.ost I.ntelligent L.ife O.bservant G.ifted I.n C.yphers and he can fill up the volume of a space with his voice alone. The multifaceted musician manipulates the beats with the same care that he takes to craft his rhymes.
