The Porch Lyrics

Lately you've been in my dreams
walkin' up and down these halls
your cryin' eyes, they look at me
they say why and then you're gone
Then we're standin' in a field,
where I hold you in my arms
It's the best day of our lives
I say I love you girl, then you're gone.
CHORUS:
All day long, I convince myself
that leaving you was right.
When the sun goes down and the lights go out
my dreams tell me I lied.

So, baby here I stand
heart in hand out here on your porch.
You don't have to hear me out
But I just wanted you to know
CHORUS:
All day long, I convince myself
that leaving you was right.
When the sun goes down and the lights go out
my dreams tell me I lied.
I lied!
Ooohhhh
Ooohhhh
(instrumental break)
Then i let you strike my face
see your tears roll like rain
And i watch you close that door,
and slowly open it again
And you kiss me like you never have
Like I never made you cry
Let the sun go down, let the lights go out
I won't dream of you tonight.
I need you baby
I love you baby
Forgive me, baby

Dean Brody (born in Jaffray, British Columbia) is a Canadian country music artist. Signed to Broken Bow Records in 2008, Brody made his debut late that year with the single "Brothers". This song, a Top 40 country hit in both Canada and the US, is the first single from his debut album, released in 2009 under the production of Matt Rovey.

Dean Brody was born in Jaffray, British Columbia, Canada.[2] As a boy, Brody worked at a sawmill, also playing guitar in his spare time. By 2004, he had moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue his musical career. Although he found a songwriting contract, the expiration of his US work permit forced him to move back to Canada. Eventually, he returned to Nashville through the suggestion of producer Keith Stegall, who helped him sign with Broken Bow Records in 2008.[2] Brody released his debut single, "Brothers", late that year. Shortly before its release, Brody was injured in a waterskiing accident.[3]
