The Resistance Lyrics

Yesterday when we were getting high
You were invited, you woulda liked it
Uh, uh, nah, I know you all too wellWe said that we can kiss the past goodbye
But your weren't excited, there's no way to fight it
You can stay but shawty, here I goShould I spend the weekend in Vegas?
I'm living inside the moment, not taking pictures to save it
I mean how could I forget, my memories never faded
I can't relate to these haters, my enemies never made itI am still here with who I started with
The game needed life, I put my heart in it
I blew myself up, I'm on some martyr shit
Carried the weight for my city like a cargo shipI'm 23 with a money tree
Growing more too, I just planted a 100 seeds
It's ironic 'cause my mother was a florist
And that's how she met my pops and now my garden is enormousIt's happening Penny Lane, just like you said
I avoided the Coke game and went with Sprite instead
That's word to the millions that they putting up
I'm trying to do better than good enoughWhat am I afraid of?
This is supposed to be what dreams are made of

The people I don't have time to hang with
Always look at me and say the same shit, they sayYou promised me you would never change
Oh, huh, huh, oh, huh, huh, oh, huh, huh
You promised me you would never change
Oh, huh, huh, oh, huh, huhAm I wrong for making light of my situation?
Clap on, when 40 got something for me to snap on
Now that I'm on, I don't wanna worry about getting back on
I'm just trying to stay on, get my fucking buffett onI heard they just moved my grandmother to a nursing home
And I'll be acting like I don't know how to work a phone
But hit redial you'll see that I just called some chick I met at the mall
That I barely know at all andPlus this woman that I mess with unprotected
Text us, saying she wish she woulda kept it
The one that I'm laying next to just looked over and read it
Man, I couldn't tell you where the fuck my head is
I'm holding on by a threadIt's like I'm high right now, the guy right now
And you can tell by looking in my eyes right now
That nothing really comes as a surprise right now
'Cause we having the time of our lives right nowWhat am I afraid of?
This is supposed to be what dreams are made of
The people I don't have time to hang with
Always look at me and say the same shit, they sayYou promised me you would never change
Oh, huh, huh, oh, huh, huh, oh, huh, huh
You promised me you would never change
Oh, huh, huh, oh, huh, huhI live by some advice this girl, Lisa told me
The other day Lisa told me that she missed the old me
Which made me question when I went missing
And when I start treating my friends differentMaybe it was the fast pace switch up
Or the 2 guns in my face during the stick up
Maybe 'cause the girl I thought I trusted
Was who set the whole shit up
But a fact I haven't seen 'em since they locked big rich upI know, the same time, I'm quick to forget
'Bout to roll me a blunt with my list of regrets
Burn it all, burn it all, I'm starting it fresh
'Cause half the time I got it right I probably guessedDid I just trade free time for camera time?
Will I blow all of this money? Baby, hammer time
Yeah, I just need some closure, ain't no turning back for me
I'm in it till it's over

Enjoy the lyrics !!!

1. Aubrey “Drake” Graham (born October 24, 1986 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Grammy award nominated Canadian actor, rapper and singer signed to Young Money/Universal Motown. Drake shot to global fame upon the release of his critically acclaimed 2009 mixtape So Far Gone and Best I Ever Had, a single from the mixtape which peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Drake's music career began in 2006 with the release of his debut mixtape Room For Improvement. The tape featured collaborations with Trey Songz, Lupe Fiasco and Nikelus F and marked the beginning of a long-time partnership with Canadian producer boi-1da. The mixtape sold 6,000 physical copies in the year of its release.

Comeback Season, Drake's second official mixtape, was released in 2007 and featured the single Replacement Girl. The track featured vocals from Trey Songz and received heavy rotation on MTV and BET television networks. Robin Thicke, Clipse and Rich Boy featured on the mixtape, however it was Man of the Year - a track recorded with future mentor Lil Wayne - which signified the start of a close affiliation between Drake and Lil' Wayne's recording label Young Money Entertainment.

In 2009, Drake released his highly anticipated third mixtape So Far Gone to critical acclaim and commercial success. Its lead single, Best I Ever Had, peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has since been certified double platinum by the RIAA. The success of the track lead to a highly publicised bidding war between several record labels to sign Drake. The rapper eventually signed a deal with Young Money Entertainment in the summer of 2009 and released an official EP version of the mixtape soon after; eventually receiving Gold status for shipments of 500,000 units.

This astronomical rise to success continued into 2010 with the release of his major label debut album Thank Me Later. After several setbacks from its original October 2009 release date, the album was released on June 15th 2010 preceded by lead single Over, which peaked at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at #1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Album Chart and has since been certified Platinum by the RIAA for sales of approximately 1,100,000 copies in the US to date. It produced three further singles which attained chart success; Find Your Love, Miss Me (feat. Lil' Wayne) and Fancy (feat. T.I. & Swizz Beatz).

Drake plans to release a 4th official mixtape consisting entirely of R & B material in December 2010, before releasing his 2nd album in 2011.

2. Drake is a Polish sea shanty band founded in 2004.
