The Sky Is Crying Lyrics

The sky is crying,
Look at the tears rolling down the streets.
The sky is crying,
Look at the tears rolling down the streets.
I looked out my window,
The rain was falling down in sheets.
My baby left me this morning,
Lord knows I don't know the reason why.
My baby left me this morning,
I don't know the reason why.
And everytime I think about it,
I hang my head and cry.
The sun is shining,
Although it's raining in my heart.
The sun is shining,
Although it's raining in my heart.

I love my baby,
I hate to see us part.
Have you ever loved a woman
And you know you can't leave her alone?
Something deep inside of you
Won't let you wreck your best friend's home.
I got rambling,
I got rambling all on my mind.
I got rambling,
I got rambling all on my mind.
I hates to leave my baby,
But she treats me so unkind.

Two of the biggest names in blues deliver a set that blends the traditional delta blues sound with modern electric blues rock on Telarc's Legends, with Pinetop Perkins on piano and vocals and Hubert Sumlin on acoustic and electric guitars and vocals.

These two blues masters provide some of their most fulfilling moments in song as they reflect on their earliest musical experiences. Both were born in the Mississippi Delta and remain firmly rooted in their musical and cultural heritage. Both genius bluesmen moved north to Chicago to perform with two of the most distinguished artists in the electric blues genre—Perkins through his association with Muddy Waters and Sumlin in the company of Howlin' Wolf.

Together here for the first time, Perkins and Sumlin awaken the spirit of an incredible era.
