The Storm Lyrics

Baby you and I been goin crazy
Tangled up in turmoil for too long
There's somethin missin and I'm thinkin maybe
We need to get it back before it's gone
Think of all the time we spend on everybody else
Let's take a little bit and keep it for ourselvesCause when it feels like you been caught up
In a dark angry wind
That blew in on the day you were born
And it seems like you been spinnin since you can't remember when
Well it's time to run away
It's time to run away from the stormSo much obsession with makin money
The dollar writes the rules for everyone
That may be fine but now listen honey
There's got to be some time for havin fun
The roads go anywhere, so many we can take
But don't ignore them, there's just too much at stakeCause when it feels like you been caught up
In a dark angry wind
That blew in on the day you were born

And it seems like you been spinnin since you can't remember when
Well it's time to run away
It's time to run away from the stormOh yeah baby
Yeah, let's run awayThe clock is tickin
And the days keep passin
Oughta get out while the gettin's good
Before we end up some day too late askin
Why we never took the chance we could
We need a get away that's meant for only two
If you'll take my hand, that's what we're gonna doCause when it feels like you been caught up
In a dark angry wind
That blew in on the day you were born
And it seems like you been spinnin since you can't remember when
Well it's time to run away
It's time to run away from the stormYeah, it's time to run away
Time to run away from the storm
Oh baby
It's time to run away
It's time to run away from the stormYeah baby
Oh
Let's run away child
Oh, yeah now baby
Let's run away
Far far away
Oh run away
From the storm

James Travis Tritt (born February 9, 1963) is an American country music singer. He now resides in Hiram, Georgia off Travis Tritt Highway.

Tritt was born in Marietta, Georgia to James and Gwen Tritt. At age 3, he received his first guitar from his father. By 22, he had been through two divorces and had committed himself entirely to his music career. He has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1992. Today, he and wife Theresa have three children: Tyler Reese (born February 18, 1998), Tristan James (born June 16, 1999) and Terian Nathaniel (born November 20, 2003).

His breakthrough came with his first album, Country Club, from which three singles were released, as well as his first No. 1 hit with "Help Me Hold On". His second album, It's All About To Change, produced two top 3 hits including: "Anymore", "The Whiskey Ain't Workin'", and "Here's A Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)". The song "Bible Belt" was used in the movie, My Cousin Vinny, and, for which, he composed alternate lyrics exclusively for the use of the film.

Tritt has released a trilogy of music videos describing the tale of two paralyzed war veterans: Mac Singleton and his friend Al. In the video for "Tell Me I was Dreaming", Tritt plays Singleton, a wheelchair bound veteran who tries to rescue his pregnant wife Annie from slipping off a boat, subsequently hitting her head on the side of the dock. She dies, but their baby, Annie, survives. The third video shows what happened with Singleton and his daughter after the second video.

Tritt's latest album, My Honky Tonk History, showcases a wide range of styles, from love ballads to energetic footstompers.
