The Wrong Idea Lyrics

I don't want to introduce you to my friends
'Cause I think they'll get the wrong ideaYou're so fetching in that dress
They'll think that we have messed around
And though I'll tell them otherwise
I was gone all night with youWhat most people do
Will be running through their heads
They don't need to see
That I met a pretty girl last nightI'm nineteen
And I've kissed two girls, that's all
You're sixteen
And your one is that against the law?I never thought that it would come to this
My reputation will be missed by all the dads
That introduce me to their girls
Saying I have got a great ideaYou're so different from most guys
Now that's just a wishful lie
Because I am not different anymoreA revolving door you came through
And though you're first even if your last
Won't change that I'm not me

'Cause I met a pretty girl last nightI guess, I have to introduce you to my friends
But I know they'll get the wrong idea

Chris Thile is a renowned mandolin player and a founding member of the progressive bluegrass trio Nickel Creek with Sara Watkins and Sean Watkins. Thile began recording his first solo album in 1993, with most songs of his own composition. After two more solo albums of all original material, he teamed with mandolin master Mike Marshall for a stunning album of duets called Into the Cauldron, which included forays into jazz, world music, and Bach. In 2004 Chris released Deceiver, a departure from his earlier work which contained a variety of pop/rock/folk influenced vocal numbers.
