Thick as Thieves Lyrics

We could live like highway robbers, thick as thieves
Let the law men throw us in a jail cell for weeks,
But the boys in blue couldn't break up me and you
Your daddy used to work for the F.B.I.
Put my name on a poster wanted dead or alive,
So we ditched our cars, and put on our running shoes
No they don't, no they don't,
Want us to be together
No they don't
No they don't
Not at all, (not at all)
We could live, we could live
We could live like this forever
You and I, you and I, on and on
Always and forever, forever, forever
Always and forever, forever, forever
Jumped on a train, destination anywhere,
As long as I'm with you, girl I don't care

I'll grow a mustache you cut off your hair
No they don't, no they don't
Want us to be together
No they don't no they don't
Not at all (not at all)
We could live, we could live
We could live like this forever
You and I, you and I, on and on
Always and forever, forever, forever
Always and forever, forever, forever
Because I hear the sirens are coming,
Pistols drawn get on the ground
There may be a mountain in between us
But no ones gonna take us down
No they don't, no they don't
Want us to be together
No they don't, no they don't, not at all (not at all)
We could live, we could live
We could live like this forever
You and I, you and I on and on
Always and forever, forever, forever
Always and forever, forever, forever
No they don't, no they don't
Want us to be together
No they don't, no they don't, not at all (not at all)
We could live, we could live,
We could live like this forever
You and I, you and I, on and on
Always and forever, forever, forever
Always and forever, forever, forever

Widowspeak is a Brooklyn, New York, United States-based quartet that play hazy atmospheric dream pop and shoegaze, formed in 2010. There are aspects of the band's sound - abrasive guitar hooks, immediate drumming, and incessant codas - that speak to living in a big city. But there's also a dreary sparseness, a David Lynch-esque darkness, culled from the other members' native Washington. The band's skeletal sound began to take shape, with Robert's rust-belt guitar parts lending a restless, sinister edge to Molly's subdued melodies and soft vocal style.
