Thief of Fire (Live Electric Ballroom 1979) Lyrics

I admit my crime
I'm a thief of fire
I
Admit my crime, crime, crime, I'm a thief of fire
Fire, fire, fireWe do not have anything
We have not learned anything
We do not know anything
Do not understand
We do not sell anything
We do not help but we will betray
And we will not forget
We will not forgetI admit my crime
I'm a thief of fire
I
Admit my crime, crime, crime, I'm a thief of fire
Fire, fire, fire
Fire, fire, fireReject very conscience of law and discipline
Reject very conscience of law and discipline

Reject very conscience of law and disciplineI admit my crime
I'm a thief of fire
I
Admit my crime, crime, crime, I'm a thief of fire
Fire, fire, fireWhen you're stealing from a nation of killers
Do I trust myself?Flowers in Moscow (each as they die) losers take all (under China's constitution)We are here to go
All lovers betrayI
Admit my crime
I'm a thief of fire

The Pop Group were a post-punk band which formed in 1978 in Bristol, England. They consisted of Mark Stewart (vocals), John Waddington (guitar), Gareth Sager (guitar), Simon Underwood (bass) and Bruce Smith (drums). Their uncompromising, dissonant sound spanned punk, free jazz, funk and dub music. Their lyrics were, more often than not, politically charged. In '79 they issued their debut single, "She Is Beyond Good and Evil" on the Radar label.
