This Time Lyrics

Maybe I'm on Rocky Mountain time
But I don't know, what's up with you
Could fake it out, say hey never mind
But someday livin' loose will get to you
And you say baby please, I'm cryin' tears
Will I hear it deep inside of me?
Maybe you'll decide, you're outta here
Anything can happen, anything can beThis time
You can't walk away
Gotta have you say
Make it clear
This time
Gonna face your fears
Share your tears
For love my dearSad attacks
Rollin' off my back
I don't know, babe how to be so blue
I can lose my mind, I can do hard time

But it scares me if I'm outta sync with you
I'm going to extremes to show a gentle man
You know I'm not as hard as you believe
Try for you, and cry for you
Never call me heartless, when I try the hardestThis time
You can't walk away
Gotta have you say
Make it clear
This time
Gonna face your fears
Share your tears
For love my dearThis time
I won't turn away
From the love that's here
The love I needed
This time
I won't let you down
I won't play around
I swear my dearAin't no doubt
People live in fear
Turn away, no see no hear
Sayin' I don't know, what happened officer
I wanna be the perfect witness
Baby do we care to see it?
Show some heart, maybe come a time
When love will come apart
We're livin' here, I will make it clear
Silence is a lie, to tell the truth I'm tryin'This time
You can't walk away
Gotta have you say
Make it clear
This time
Gonna face your fears
Share your tears
For love my dearThis time
I won't turn away
From the love that's here
The love I needed
This time
I won't let you down
I won't play around
I swear my dearThis time
I'm gonna love you baby
You know what I need it baby
I'm gonna make it clear, make it clear
Girl I wanna be with you
You know I wanna stay with you
I swear my dear
This time
You wanna hear it baby
But you'll believe it baby
Time to believe
This time
Never wanna be alone
This time
This time

His mother played songs by Frank Sinatra to him as a child, and he later became a fan of Motown and other R&B/soul music. He took piano lessons as a child, but he did not like them. He would skip the lessons and ride his bicycle across the bridge from his grandfather's farm over to the heart of the black "Chicken Hill" ghetto, where he could just listen and absorb the music.

In the 1960s, Hall attended Temple University, but did not graduate, preferring instead to spend his time singing on the street corners and play with various musicians and groups. At that time, Daryl Hohl (as he was called then) sang backup for different bands. He eventually changed his last name to Hall. Daryl Hall idolized the Temptations and began to perform session work as a singer. He first met John Oates at a band competition.

After John transferred to a different school, Daryl joined the band Gulliver, which released one eponymous album in 1969 before being dropped from their label.

Daryl is the host of the wildly popular online show entitled "Live From Daryl's House", where Daryl and the band collaborate with artists from various musical genres on the 15th of each month. The first episode aired in 2007, and it's still going strong. Best of all, it's free to watch.
