Through The Night Lyrics

Hey I'm the guy who found a treasure in your eyes
And that's no surprise, there's something 'bout you clearly
I can't recall all the ones I've met before
They move on by and leave me nothing to believe inThough the night may grow, the winds may blow
And the rain it falls from out into nowhereThrough the night you learn what it is to yearn
When you cannot find the girl
Through the night you feel how it is to kneel
Asking God for all the worldDrove all the way to drop a circus in your face
If that's what it takes, I'll do it every day now
Still for your smile, I would run another mile
Barefoot and bruised and laughing all the whileWell the rising sun says the night is done
Yeah, the day will come after the darknessThrough the night you learn what it is to yearn
When you cannot find the girl
Through the night you feel how it is to kneel
Asking God for all the worldThrough the night you learn what it is to yearn
When you cannot find that girl
Through the night you feel how it is to kneel
Asking God for all the worldThrough the night you learn what it is to yearn

When you cannot find the girl
Through the night you feel how it is to kneel
Asking God for all the worldThrough the night you learn what it is to yearn
When you cannot find the girl
Through the night you feel how it is to kneel
Asking God for all the worldAsking God for all the world
Asking God for all the world

The Elms were an American Rock And Roll band from Seymour, Indiana active from 2000-2010 under Sparrow/EMI Records and later Universal Records South. They were known for their breed of midwestern, rootsy rock, with the essence of the music of the 60's and 70's. Musically, the band has been compared by critics to The Black Crowes, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Cream for their blues-tinged, instrumentally sparse arrangements.
