Tinseltown Lyrics

Big fake snowflakes hanging from the streetlights
Marsh mellow children bundled up real tight
Short fuses, long lines, so much for a silent night
Then magically we all wake up
(Once a year we all wake up )
And find ourselves here in our own
Tinseltown
Where everything glitters
Tinseltown
All sparkle and shimmer
Look around and see the brightest stars come out
In Tinseltown, in Tinseltown
Three King manger scene, glowing on the front lawn
Ladies auxiliary butchering, "The Christmas Song"
Quarters in the kettle of the gin-jolly Santa Claus
Then magically, we all wake up
(Once a year we all wake up )
And find ourselves here in our own

Tinseltown
Where everything glitters
Tinseltown
All sparkle and shimmer
Look around and see the brightest stars come out
In Tinseltown, in Tinseltown
So where's the
Batteries, it's Christmas Eve assembly is required
Can't get the kids to sleep, sugar's got 'em wired
Finally round midnight
(All is calm, all is bright)
Then magically we all wake up
(Once a year we all wake up )
And find ourselves here in our own
Tinseltown
Where everything glitters
Tinseltown
All sparkle and shimmer
Look around and see the brightest stars come out
In Tinseltown, in Tinseltown
Tinseltown
Where everything glitters
Tinseltown
All sparkle and shimmer
Look around and see the brightest stars come out
In Tinseltown, in Tinseltown
Tinseltown
Tinseltown, Tinseltown
Tinsel all the way

Spear Of Destiny (S.O.D.) is a post-punk rock band formed in the 1980s lead by singer songwriter Kirk Brandon, former Theatre of Hate frontman and bassist Stan Stammers. They are best known for their single, Never Take Me Alive, which was a top 20 hit in 1987. They had (and still have) a cult following and they have produced eleven studio albums, notably 'One Eyed Jacks' and 'World Service'. They still tour today and the studio album, Loadestone, has been very well received. It includes a remarkable cover of the Joy Division track, Transmission.
