Tiptoe Lyrics

In the morning light let my roots take flight
Watch me from above like a vicious dove
They don’t see me come, who can blame them?
Never seem to catch my eye but I never wondered why
I won’t fall asleep
I won’t fall asleep
Higher, don’t let ‘em know we’re coming
Higher, tiptoe higher
Take some time to sip it down, keep your head down low
Higher, tiptoe higher
From your slender dream see the morning dew
Sink into the soul, watch the water go
They won’t see me run who can blame them?
They never know if they see me fly, so I never have to run
I won’t fall asleep
I won’t fall asleep
Higher, don’t let ‘em know we’re coming

Higher, tiptoe higher
Take some time to sip it down, keep your head down low
Higher, tiptoe higher
Nobody else, nobody else
Nobody else, can take me higher
Nobody else, can take me higher
Nobody else, can take me higher
Nobody else..
Higher, don’t let ‘em know we’re coming
Higher, tiptoe higher
Take some time to sip it down, keep your head down low
Higher, tiptoe higher
Higher, don’t let ‘em know we’re coming
Higher, tiptoe higher
Take some time to sip it down, keep your head down low
Higher, tiptoe higher

Corin Tucker (born November 9, 1972 ) is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist currently based in Portland, best known for her work with influential rock band Sleater-Kinney. In April 2010 Tucker announced she was recording a solo album for Kill Rock Stars to be released in October 2010.

Completing the Tucker band for first album is Unwound's Sara Lund and Golden Bears' Seth Lorinczi. According to Tucker, the album would be a "middle-aged mom record". The band's first album, 1,000 Years (2010), was released in October of 2010 on Kill Rock Stars to generally favorable reviews.

The band's second album "Kill My Blues", was released on September 18, 2012, with Mike Clark (of Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks) joining the band.

Of writing and recording the new album, Tucker notes that Kill My Blues was a group effort. “After the past two years playing together, traveling and making music, I think we’re more comfortable,” she says. “We collaborated on every song on this record and no one was shy about their ideas. I think you can hear that sense of joy and abandon in the songs.”
