Tonight Lyrics

Every night
I'll never put the lights out
Cause someone else
Will drive around
Cause I'm coming 'round
Boys, boys, everywhere
But not a drop to drink
I want to find a good one
Who still knows how to think
And it's everything and nothing
That I thought it would be
And it's nothing and everything
That I thought it would be
I need desire, to feel alive
I want a fire
To burn me up inside
So I'm calling angels
Help me to tonight

(help me tonight)
Tonight
Every night
I'll never put the lights out
Everyone's talking
But no one's listening
Pretty faces, fancy places
Nothing keeps you high
Everybody's wasted
Won't look you in the eye
And it's everything and nothing
That I thought it would be
And it's nothing and it's everything
That I thought it would be
I need desire, to feel alive
I want a fire
To burn me up inside
So I'm calling angels
Help me to tonight
(help me tonight)
Tonight
Every night
I'll never put the lights out
Do you go look for love
Or does love come look for you?
I take my head, I put on make-up
In case he comes around
Without warning, when I wake up
Will I turn it down
I need desire, to feel alive
I want a fire
To burn me up inside
Rearrange the heavens
Is making me this right
So I'm calling angels
To help me to tonight
(help me tonight)
Tonight

The Pierces, sisters Allison and Catherine, are a pair of singer-songwriters based in New York City (by way of Birmingham, Alabama and Nashville).

Former ballerinas turned songstresses, they released their self-titled debut in 2000 with Epic. The album was met with lukewarm reception, but the girls were undeterred. After moving to New York, they released Light Of The Moon with Universal in 2005, with similar luck. After leaving the label and their manager to make some serious changes, they recorded their third album with producer Roger Greenawalt and after having opened a week's worth of shows for Albert Hammond Jr. [Catherine Pierce's fiancee] in November 2006, the girls were greeted with much more enthusiastic reception and excellent press.

Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge was released in April 2007.

The Pierces recently gained even more press when they were featured on the December 5th episode of the hit TV show, "Gossip Girl".

However, despite Catherine's high-profile celebrity romance with the Strokes guitarist, Albert Hammond Jr., the increased publicity didn't translate into sales.

According to the You'll Be Mine Songfacts, the siblings were on the verge of calling it a day when a friend of theirs, Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman, offered to produce them. The result was The Pierces fourth album, You & I, their first release after signing to Polydor.
