Tortoise And The Hare Lyrics

There goes my faith, swinging by the cherry tree
I rest my eyes, I need some sleep
Slow wins the race, but I'm always rushing
Trying to escape, the monster I've become
Some days I try, and others just pass on by
A mountain so high, that I must climbSo please know I waited for you
And please be by my side
I'll make a move if you swear to catch me
I look to the skyYou're calm in the storm, came without warning
A face in the crowd, that knows my name
Pages and shapes, and everyone's just watching me
But I am so blind, in a field of weedsSo please know I waited for you
And please be by my side
I'll make a move if you swear to catch me
I look to the skyWhen I wait, always, wait...So please know I waited for you
And please be by my side
I'll make a move if you swear to catch me
I look to the...

So please know I waited for you
And please be by my side
I'll make a move if you swear to catch me
I look to the sky

Waking Ashland was formed in November 2003 by singer/keyboardist Jonathan Jones, guitarist Ryan Lallier and drummer Thomas Lee, all of which were at that time music majors at California State University, Northridge. Robert Teegarden — a friend of the band — temporarily helped out to fill the vacant position on the bass guitar. Their band name stems from the aspect of connecting people through music, paired with a reference to the town of Ashland, Oregon.
