Transparent Lyrics

Consume all the obscene
Persuade the most hideous and ugly
Under every pile and stone
A rebirth for you to findFreedom is to be able to go in any direction
So take the uncertain pathOne foot in the open
Ten feet ahead
Build your own ladder
And don't lie to yourselfSecrets left above the grave
(Its not for one to keep)
Youre all so self destructiveSpend more time with the broken
(See what became of their mistake)
You know you're lost when you feel transparentBe at one with the wind
Even if its a struggle
Make this your priorityOpen all your senses to new impressions
Act like all that was has vanishedOne foot in the open
Ten feet ahead
Build your own ladder
And dont lie to yourselfSecrets left above the grave

(Its not for one to keep)
Youre all so self destructive
Spend more time with the broken
You know you lost when you feel transparentOne foot in the open
Ten feet ahead
Build your own ladder
And dont lie to yourselfSecrets left above the grave
(Its not for one to keep)
Youre all so self destructiveSpend more time with the broken
(See what became of their mistake)
You know you're lost when you feel transparentYou know you're lost, you know you're lost
You really know you're lost when you feel transparent

The Sea and Cake is a pop/rock group with a pronounced jazz influence, which formed in 1994 in Chicago, Illinois. The group's name came from a willful reinterpretation (in the wake of an accidental miscomprehension) of The C In Cake, a song by Gastr Del Sol. Starting with 1997's The Fawn, the group has relied on electronic sound sources, such as drum machines and synthesizers, to color its music, but has retained its distinctive post-jazz combo style.
