Treat Me Like the Dog That I Am Lyrics

Treat Me Like the Dog I Am!
I show up on your doorstep hungry, without a fish in the pouring rain.
You let me stay ‘til Sunday, loan me ten dollars again.
Understand I’m just a no good man. Treat me like the dog I am!
I never called you on your birthday, I don’t know your sister’s name.
I leave you every Christmas, Baby, but you love me just the same.
Understand I’m just a no good man. Treat me like the dog I am!
Bridge:
I don’t know what you see in a poor old fool like me.
I owe you more than I can say, still you never drive me away!
If you feed me I’ll keep comin’ around, just like the neighborhood hound.
I was out last night raisin’ sand. Here I come back again.
Understand I’m just a no good man. Treat me like the dog I am!
(Instrumental)

Lloyd Jones is a consummate guitarist/singer/songwriter/arranger/performer/ bandleader. One of the most original artists on the modern day blues scene, Jones is, in the words of Blues Revue, "certainly worthy of greater recognition." The release of his first recording for Blind Pig Records, Love Gotcha, should bring him the national and international acclamation he deserves. Jones was born in Seattle into a musical family, which moved to Portland soon afterward.
