Turn The Tide (Lonely Way Home) Lyrics

This would be killing me if I hadn't walked away
We never said goodbye
Maybe that's how it should have stayedAnother time, another life
You would have set me freeI'll be forever by your side
If only I could turn the tide
Forever in this loneliness
This guilt inside
I'm driving the lonely way homeBut I never said it won't protect me
From the light of day
And all the moments spent with you
Inside my head must go awayAnother time, another life
You would have set me free
I'll be forever by your side
If only I could turn the tide
Forever in this loneliness
This guilt inside
I'm driving the lonely way homeAcoustic SoloAnother time, another life
You would have set me freeI'll be forever by your side

If only I could turn the tide
Forever in this loneliness
This guilt inside
I'm driving the lonely way homeDriving the lonely way home
Forever by your side
Forever by your side
Turning back the tide
I'll be forever by your side
If only I could turn the tide
Forever in this loneliness
This guilt inside
I'm driving the lonely way homeTurning back the tide
Forever by your side
If only I could turn back timeI'm driving the lonely way home
I'm driving my way home

Praying Mantis are a well established band of melodic hard rockers. They were formed by brothers Tino Troy and Chris Troy in the United Kingdom 1974 and they became one of the bands associated with the the nwobhm (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal). Their first album 1981's "Time Tells No Lies" received a lot of critical acclaim. England's Praying Mantis was one of the more melodic bands to emerge from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal scene. They combined a Thin Lizzy-style twin guitar approach with Def Leppard-like vocal harmonies, resulting in a sound not unlike later-day Rainbow.
