Twenty Yards Behind Lyrics

If you see my baby walking
I'm not walking by her side
Ain't no need to look too far
Because I won't be hard to findI'm walkin' twenty yards behind her
'Cause I love the way she shakes her behindEverybody stops to see her
When my baby's out takin' a stroll
I see a traffic cop that flags
When a steam roller ran out of controlBut when my baby walked by
He jumped up and shouted, ?Bless my soul!?
Bless my soulIt's all much confusion in the town
When she's passing through
All the cars are going backwards
And the traffic lights change to blueI'm walking twenty yards behind her
'Cause I'm frightened of the damage she'd do

Dr. Feelgood are a British pub rock band, formed in 1971. The classic line-up included Lee Brilleaux (b. 1953, d. 7 April 1994; vocals/harmonica), Wilko Johnson (b. John Wilkinson, 1947; guitar), John B. Sparks (b. 1953; bass) and John 'The Big Figure' Martin (drums). Initially based in Canvey Island, Essex, on the Thames estuary, Dr. Feelgood broke into the London circuit in 1974. Brilleaux's menacing personality complemented Johnson's propulsive, jerky stage manner, while the guitarist's staccato style dominated the group's idiosyncratic brand of angular rhythm and blues.
