Under the Sun Lyrics

You can try to make this better
You can lie and make this better
You rely on every reason under the sun
Just try for funYou could live to where there's weather
You could love me, if you'd rather
Still I'd like to have tricked you
If stowaways make use of daysStill, you fall in and out of love like this
When you know everyone's afraid of that
If I know you better than you let on
You'll drown the sunYou can read my heart and travel
Isn't that how love unravels
Is it true you keep your word for the company
In spite of meFar away you're like a treasure
Here's a kiss just for good measure
Still I'd have liked to see you
If stowaways make light of daysDear, you fall in and out of love like this
When you know everyone's afraid of that
If I know you better than you let on

You'll drown the sunJust like you'd promised you would come
I found a lover on the Rhine
Ohh...You can try to make this better
You can lie and make this better
You rely on every reason under the sun
Just try for funStill, you fall in and out of love like this
When you know everyone's afraid of that
If I know you better than you let on
You'll drown the sunYou fall, you fall, you fall, you fall
You fall, you fall, you fall, you fall
You fall in and out of love like this
When you know everyone's afraid of that
If I know you better than you let on
You'll drown the sunDrown the sun

Formed in July of 2002, the Bridges are an alternative country group consisting of siblings Natalie Byrd (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Stacey Byrd (vocals, guitar), Isaaca Byrd (bass), and Jeremy Byrd (drums), along with cousin Brittany Painter (lead vocals, guitar). Originally from North Carolina, the Bridges are currently based out of Oxford, Alabama, United States where the entire band shares a house and rehearsal space. With a bright pop sound full of three-part harmonies, the Bridges site influences ranging from late-era Fleetwood Mac to the Beatles and Crosby, Still, Nash & Young, and the group's approach, although it draws on these classic 1960s and 1970s sources, is delightfully refreshing. The band signed with Verve Records in December of 2007 and began working on a debut project with Matthew Sweet at his studio in L.A. that same year.
