Unworthy Lyrics

[Written by Briody & Conklin]Once long ago I believed in dreams, once long ago I relied on faithDreams fade to dust and blow away
Faith withers in the hot sun of mid-dayI starve this vessel and I pray
No, nothing wipes the filth away, cleanse my spiritAll sins were born into our veins
No blood can wash them all awayThough all my tears may cause a flood
I receive no healing from above
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust...Cleanse my spiritFrom Adam we were made to lust
Consuming pleasures born to usRelease my spirit like a dove
Return to once that was above
With this blood I cleanse the earth
Take my soul for what it's worth
Though all my tears may cause a flood
I receive no healing from above
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust . .

Jag Panzer were a heavy metal/power metal band originally formed in Colorado in 1978 as Tyrant. The band consisted of Harry Conklin on vocals, Mark Briody on guitar, John Tetley on bass, and Rick Hilyard on drums. They later found out that there was already a band in existence by the name of Tyrant, so they named the band Jag Panzer after the Jagdpanzer, which was a German WWII tank destroyer and literally means "Hunting Tank". In 1983 their first recording, the EP known as "Tyrants".
