Note there are two artists with similar names. Johnny Ray is a well-known Latin music artist (percussionist and band leader). A native of Puerto Rico, he moved to New York, where he formed several bands (starting in the 60's) focused on salsa and tropical music. His current band ("Salsa Con Clase") continues to perform (see: http://www.salsaconclase.com/). ------------------------------------------
