Giorgis grew up in Athens, Greece. He studied theatre and singing. Since 1998 he produced four LPs and two EPs (Ankh,EMI Greece,V2,Lyra) which made him well known around. He also received excellent press review giving him the opportunity to give concerts all over the country and to act in musicals and Greek Opera productions as well as in grand festivals.
He wrote the music for ten plays, foremost for the Greek National Theatre. In 2005 he started to take Spanish classes with a lot of enthusiasm so that after just two years he reached the advanced language skills. He started traveling to Barcelona, a city he fell in love with at first sight. He familiarized himself with bars and lounges all over the city and collaborated with local singers. They organized concerts together for special events in cathedrals, harbors, etc. in Barcelona as well as around the island of Mallorca.
After a certain time he decided to make his wish come true to record a disc in Spanish. For this purpose he contacted and hence collaborated with Alberto Matesanz, a singer-songwriter from Madrid who not only wrote scripts for Giorgis’ music but also gave him other themes. The acustic pop aesthetics is very much reflected on this disc that has been recorded with acoustic instruments only. It’s “3x4” and “4x4” songs which highlight the pop melancholy and the Mediterranean light anchored in Giorgis’ voice. The disc has a new version of a very old topic by Boris Vian, which is about love in Barcelona. Giorgis has a disc recorded in Athens and in Barcelona (containing collaborations with main Greek jazz musicians) which is gonna be released in Argentina and France as well during summer 2011.
