Wake You Up Lyrics

Baby, baby
I could not believe it
When I found the letter
You left it on the tableI couldn't miss it
At least you coulda hid it
I guess in a way
You did me a favorIt's all about how you
Loved to smell her skin
While she's sleeping
How you loved to touch herSomething about
Some ciggarette, somewhere
But I don't smoke
Do not smoke
Do not smoke
Do not smokeBaby, baby
Do you call her baby?
Bet you're gonna get it
But I heard you say she's prettyDo you curl up

Cozy by the fire?
Maybe I should tell her
That, baby, you're a liarDidn't mean to wake you up
Lay down your sleepy head
Didn't mean to wake you up
Go back to sleep and dream
And dream of her holding
Dream of her holding
Dream of her holdingBaby, baby
Let me tell you something
One day you'll be sorry
One day you'll be bitter
I hate to be the one
To break it to you
But that girl is a bitch
Don't forget I'm finishedI didn't mean to wake you up
I didn't mean to wake you upI didn't mean to wake you up
Lay down your sleepy headI didn't mean to wake you up
Go back to sleep and dream of her
Dream of her holding you
Dream of her holding you
Dream of her holding you

The Pierces, sisters Allison and Catherine, are a pair of singer-songwriters based in New York City (by way of Birmingham, Alabama and Nashville).

Former ballerinas turned songstresses, they released their self-titled debut in 2000 with Epic. The album was met with lukewarm reception, but the girls were undeterred. After moving to New York, they released Light Of The Moon with Universal in 2005, with similar luck. After leaving the label and their manager to make some serious changes, they recorded their third album with producer Roger Greenawalt and after having opened a week's worth of shows for Albert Hammond Jr. [Catherine Pierce's fiancee] in November 2006, the girls were greeted with much more enthusiastic reception and excellent press.

Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge was released in April 2007.

The Pierces recently gained even more press when they were featured on the December 5th episode of the hit TV show, "Gossip Girl".

However, despite Catherine's high-profile celebrity romance with the Strokes guitarist, Albert Hammond Jr., the increased publicity didn't translate into sales.

According to the You'll Be Mine Songfacts, the siblings were on the verge of calling it a day when a friend of theirs, Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman, offered to produce them. The result was The Pierces fourth album, You & I, their first release after signing to Polydor.
