Walk of Shame Lyrics

Yesterday's drinks have hurt me today
I've got a hangover that won't go away
Shots at the bar sure have started my plight
But what the hell happened to me last night?
I get to my feet to see where I am
Looking at me is a cow and a lamb
Slowly I start to creep back into town
Just one more night I'll never live down
(Chorus)
I'm wearing one red shoe
And a saddle on my back
A cod piece on my rear
And two tankards in my rack
I have to pass through town
And my head is full of pain
My God what have I done

I must walk
The walk of shame
I tipped toed to court Trying not to recall
For darling he told me strip poker's your fall
You lost all your clothes in the card game last
So I gave you my cod piece to cover your hinie.
I walk up the road and the cat house is near
The madam screamed how's your head today my dear
She said you stole my shoe kissed the mayor and the vicker
And strode out of town with all our hard liquers
Chorus
I crept past the stable the boy he did say
Can I have back saddle you took yesterday
You rode away screaming to the hot summer night
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
Except for my head I was feeling alright
Till I found out I'd gotten married last night
I guess I'm resigned to the old ball and chain
Now if someone could please just tell me his name please
Chorus (except last 2 lines)
Chorus

The Merry Wives of Windsor is a charming group of women who perform Renaissance and Folk music. They portray a group of serving wenches at the infamous "Windsor's Tavern". With the help of their male musicians they serve up good song and good cheer! Through their music, they depict a simpler time - when men were men, women were women and adultery was a suitable defense for murder! The Wives have a large repertoire of traditional period and original songs that can be tailored into a show for any occasion.
