Walkaway Lyrics

There's a river of tears I need to cry
Been holding back for years
There's a mountain so high I need to climb
To wipe away the fearsSolitude and loneliness
Have been a friend of mine
As I'm turning my back on emptiness
I leave them all behindWho knows
Just where I'm going
Does tomorrow belong to meWalk away, this time with my head up high
Walk away, just me and myself
Walk away with pride, nothing left to hide
But it just feels right to be one and just walk awayI could never forget how hard I tried
When we were, oh, so young
Just one tender moment I cannot find
Well, maybe I had noneStrength will be by my side
Although I feel afraid
But I know it's too late for this goodbye
There's nothing left to sayWho knows

Just where I'm going
Does tomorrow belong to meWalk away this time with my head up high
Walk away, just me and myself
Walk away with pride, nothing left to hide
But it just feels right to be one and just walk away this timeOne day you'll realize
That the tears you saw in my eyes
Will be there foreverWalk away this time with my head up high
Walk away, just me and myself
Walk away with pride, nothing left to hide
But it just feels right to be one and just walk awayAnd just walkaway
And just walkaway
Just walkawayAnd just walkaway
And just walkawayAnd just walkaway

Biting Tongues was formed when Tony Wilson's Factory Club in Manchester offered an open invitation to experiment, which was taken up when Ken Hollings, Howard Walmsley, Eddie Sherwood and a few others decided to make some noise to accompany their 16mm silent epic Biting Tongues. A further performance followed a few weeks later, when Colin Seddon and Graham Massey disbanded their Post Natals project and joined up. The film itself, a flashing series of negative images, became a memory; the name remained.
