We Did But Now You Don't Lyrics

Falling into love so young seemed so right
How could we know we'd grow up and grow apart?
All we really wanted was each other in the night
But, it's plain to see we've had a change of heartThe day we said I do I really did and so did you
Love came so easy, coming true
I wish we could find that love again but I'm afraid we won't
'Cause when we said I do we really did but now you don'tWedding vows are just no good if you let 'em fade
And rings don't mean a thing when feelings die
They're just a grim reminder of the love that we once made
And the loneliness ahead for you and IThe day we said I do I really did and so did you
Love came so easy, coming true
I wish we could find that love again but I'm afraid we won't
'Cause when we said I do we really did but now you don't

Conway Twitty (1 September 1933 – 5 June 1993), born Harold Lloyd Jenkins, was one of the United States' most successful artists of the 20th century. Twitty had the most singles (55) reach Number 1 on various national music charts. Conway Twitty's across the board totals were greater than that of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, and Garth Brooks. Most notably known as a country music singer, Twitty also enjoyed success in early Rock and Roll, R&B, and Pop music (among other genres). He teamed up with Loretta Lynn to form one of country music's most successful business partnerships.
