Weep for Jamie Lyrics

The other side
Of Jamie's door
Is aching loneliness
One, two, three, fourShe dances with
The ancient fears
With porcelain smiles
And wetless tearsWeep for Jamie
For the bones that tear
At her flesh insideWeep for Jamie
She lives in the land
Where her father diedDon't try to answer
Her helpless call
She can't hear your words
She feels nothing at allWith no tomorrow
Promised by today
She's the child
Of emptiness and yesterdayWeep for Jamie
For the bones that tear

At her flesh insideWeep for Jamie
She lives in the land
Where her father diedI'll sing you one
Of a song without an end
I'll sing you two
Of a tree that cannot bendI'll sing you three
Of a womb that never filled
And the fourth deepest wound
And the love that it killedWeep for Jamie
For the bones that tear
At her flesh insideWeep for Jamie
She lives in the land
Where her father died

The trio Peter, Paul and Mary (often PP&M) is an American musical group that was one of the most successful folk-singing groups of the 1960s. The trio comprises Peter Yarrow, Noel Paul Stookey, and Mary Travers. The group was created by manager Albert Grossman, who sought to create a folk "supergroup" by bringing together "a tall blonde (Travers), a funny guy (Stookey), and a good looking guy (Yarrow)." He launched the group in 1961, booking them into the Bitter End, a coffee house in New York City's Greenwich Village that was a favorite place to hear folk artists.
