With bristling cynicism, surrealistic word-play, and a decidedly post-modern veneer couched in eclectic song arrangements, Andy McCutcheon tears through rock's back pages to create a distinctive sound that is reflective, stylish, twisted, and captivating. His track "Rewind" was recently featured on the December 2008 season finale of Showtime's Californication.

From the freewheeling jangle-pop of "Hello," to the angular new wave stylings of The Cars' classic "My Best Friend's Girl," to the musing junkyard balladry of "Life Is Too Short," Andy McCutcheon exudes irony and passion.

Akin to the artistry of Beck, Robyn Hitchcock, Syd Barrett, early Bowie and The Doors, McCutcheon tantalizes the senses with an array of emotional depth, a whirlpool mixture of instrumental textures, and astute observations of the human condition molded into splashing pop melodies. McCutcheon is currently completing a new CD, produced and engineered by triple Grammy-nominated producer, Brad Gilderman. Known for his work with legendary artists such as Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Brian Wilson, X, and Motley Crue, Gilderman hones McCutcheon's retro-inspired eclecticism into razor-sharp focus, producing a sound that is at once innovative and classic. Adding bassist Richard Sanchez, drummer Bob Mars, and guitarist Danny Aon to his line up, McCutchon continues to promote his solo releases in the Los Angeles area as well as perform and record with THE REVERSIBLES. Their Performance of "Devil's Favorite Angel" is currently featured in Basilisk Films - Shakespeare's Richard III, staring David Carradine, Sally Kirkland and Danny Trejo. McCutcheon has also recently reunited with his original band, The Skeptics, known for their fusion of disparate influences, such as the “Cramps-styled snarlings” and “Byrds-tinged ballads” found on their 1986 Bonafide Records release, Snallygaster. Tracks from this and other Skeptics releases are currently featured in several indie films, including The 13th Alley, Grave Mistakes, and an upcoming Skeptics documentary by Baltimore area film maker, Keith Chester, which chronicles the band’s formation and brief success in the mid to late 1980’s to their 2007 reunion concert in their native Frederick, Maryland.
