What You Want Lyrics

I've been sitting on something for a long time
You pulled it out from under me at the wrong time
What you did to me, it's not your first crime
What makes it worse is it's all on my dime
Fight all day, you're not hearing what I say
Stay all night and you'll never know what's right
'Cause the message on the line
Is the lesson that I should've learned that last
What you want is what you get
When you start with a promise but you end with a threat
What you want you'll never get
'Cause you haven't dragged me down to the bottom with you
Not yet
I've been staying low waiting for a bad sign
You're always praying for clouds not sunshine
You keep saying no, it's not your worst line
Go ahead if that's the way it has be fine
Stay and fight 'cause you think you know what's right

All night and day, I don't wanna hear you say
That the message on the line
Is the lesson that I should've learned that last time
What you want is what you get
When you start with a promise but you end with a threat
What you want you'll never get
'Cause you haven't dragged me down with you
I don't care what you mean to say
I know I might find out some day
What makes you tick, what makes you high
But now I just want off this ride
'Cause maybe you're so sick this time
You'll spit out all your stupid tragic lies
What you want is what you get
When you start with a promise but you end with a threat
What you want you'll never get
'Cause you haven't dragged me down to the bottom with you
Not yet
What you want is what you get
(You want it)
When you start with a promise but you end with a threat
(You want it all)
What you want you'll never get
(You want it)
'Cause you haven't dragged me down to the bottom with you
Not yet
(You want it all)

Treble Charger was a Canadian rock group from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, formed in 1992. The band consists of vocalist Greig Nori, bassist Rosie Martin and drummer Trevor MacGregor. Guitarist Bill Priddle, a founding member of the band, left in 2003. They began with a melodic indie rock style, but have evolved into more of a pop punk band since signing to a major label in 1997. The band was originally named NC17 but had to change their name due to some dispute with a US band of the same name.
