When Will You (Make My Telephone Ring)? Lyrics

Pale blue eyes, the same old house, no ties
A little bit older but not so worldly wise
That I can't see your light's on me
Making me regretfully sayThe wonder of it all was you
And underneath it all it wasn't trueI want you in everything
In everything, in anything I do
When will you make my phone ring
And tell me I can't give you anything
Anything at all nowTiny steps from ruthless legs
But you've been walking so long, don't you rest
From disharmony, from disunity
From anything that isn't you and meThe wonder of it all was you
And underneath it all it wasn't trueI want you in everything
In everything, in anything I do
When will you make my phone ring
And tell me I can't give you anything
Anything, anything at all nowYeah, tired of chasing old dreams, tired of wasting days
Tired of waking mornings just to wait for you till late

Tired of searching high, tired of getting low
Tired of listening hard just to wait for you to know thatI want you in everything
In everything, in anything I do
When will you make my phone ring
And tell me I can't give you anything
Anything at all nowI want you in everything
In everything, in anything I do
When will you make my phone ring
And tell me I can't give you anything
Anything at all nowI, I want you in everything
In everything, in anything I do
When will you make my phone ring

Deacon Blue is a Scottish pop band formed in Glasgow in 1985. Their name came from the title of the Steely Dan song "Deacon Blues". Success came for the band in 1989 when their second studio album, When The World Knows Your Name, topped the UK Album Charts. The album included "Real Gone Kid" which became their first UK top ten single. After releasing further albums in 1991 and 1993, they split up in 1994. Five years later, in 1999, the band held a reunion gig and this led to the album, Walking Back Home. Since then they have released Homesick (2001) and The Hipsters (2012).
