Where I Stand Lyrics

Should we just be friends, should we draw a line
Should we siege the times, take this thing further?
Or should we just pretend that love ain't closing in
Like I don't recognize, like you don't realize? We're drawn to one another
Friends or lovers, it's time we choose
So fuck what your girls say and what my boys say
Don't even matter, all that matters nowNow that we've come this far
I need to know what's going to be your position,
Baby, listen, tell me where I need to stand in your life
Now that we've come this far
I need to know what's going to be my position
Baby, listen, tell me where I need to stand in your lifeTo watch you fly away like doves do
And crush me, I need you
This air I breathe, like the tree's and leaves
We go together like hand in gloveSo don't pretend that love ain't closing in
That I don't recognize that you don't realize
That were drawn to one another, friends or lovers
Girl, we gotta choose right nowNow that we've come this far

I need to know what's going to be your position
Baby, listen, tell me where I need to stand in your life
Now that we've come this far
I need to know what's going to be my position
Baby, listen, tell me where I need to stand in your lifeNow that we've come this far
I need to know what's going to be your position
Baby, listen, tell me where I need to stand in your life
Now that we've come this far
I need to know what's going to be my position
Baby, listen, tell me where I need to stand in your lifeI wanna take this further, I'm talkin' 'bout commitment
Our whole life, girl, I'm with it, I wanna put a title on this love
I hope you ain't feeling pressured but that just can't measure
To the way I feel about you and I love you
And I don't ever wanna let you goNow that we've come this far
I need to know what's going to be your position
Baby, listen, tell me where I need to stand in your life
Now that we've come this far
I need to know what's going to be my position
Baby, listen, tell me where I need to stand in your lifeNow that we've come this far
I need to know what's going to be your position
Baby, listen, tell me where I need to stand in your life
Now that we've come this far
I need to know what's going to be my position
Baby, listen, tell me where I need to stand in your life

Raheem DeVaughn's debut album was "The Love Experience;" his critically acclaimed follow-up was "Love Behind The Melody."

DeVaughn's musical story began with his mother's vinyl collection. "I always loved music so I would sneak into her record collection when she wasn't around and play her stuff." DeVaughn's father, noted jazz musician Abdul Wadud was also an influence. DeVaughn knew at an early age that he would become an entertainer.

DeVaughn graduated from High Point High School in Beltsville, Maryland; then headed to nearby Coppin State. It was the first day of college that changed the course of his life. "I saw a group of guys standing outside singing, Boyz II Men style," remembers DeVaughn. "I just went up there and started harmonizing with them. Before I knew what was going on, I was in a group, cutting class to write lyrics and record." After winning $2,000.00 in a talent show at Bar None, a Washington D.C. nightclub, DeVaughn decided to go for broke and invested all of his winnings into a CD burner. Several independent releases led to a showcase with [album]Jive Records[/album], and the career was on it's way.
