Windfall Lyrics

Now and then it keeps you running
It never seems to die
The trial's spent with fear
Not enough living on the outsideNever seem to get far enough
Staying in between the lines
Hold on what you can
Waiting for the end not knowing whenMay the wind take your troubles away
May the wind take your troubles away
Both feet on the floor, two hands on the wheel
May the wind take your troubles awayTrying to make it far enough
To the next time zone
Few and far between past the midnight hour
Never feel alone, you're really not aloneSwitching it over to A.M.
Searching for a truer sound
Can't recall the call letters
Steel guitar and settle downCatching an all night station
Somewhere in Louisiana
It sounds like 1963

But for now it sounds like heavenMay the wind take your troubles away
May the wind take your troubles away
Both feet on the floor, two hands on the wheel
May the wind take your troubles away
May the wind take your troubles away
May the wind take your troubles away

Son Volt is an alternative country group which formed in 1994 in St. Louis, Missouri. The band currently consists of Jay Farrar (vocals, guitar), Chris Masterson (guitar), Andrew Duplantis (bass, vocals), Mark Spencer (keyboards) and Dave Bryson (drums). Farrar is the only original member remaining in the band. Son Volt formed after the breakup of the band Uncle Tupelo, owing to the simmering creative differences between songwriters Farrar and Jeff Tweedy. The group's members lived in Minneapolis, St Louis, and New Orleans at the time.
