Wings Lyrics

It's time to get high open up the sky
I'll see you at the top of the mountain
Try to keep dry
From all this run
You know I'm getting deeper everydayAnd I keep on thinking maybe
That when I get back on my feet again
I could climb so high that I won't feel low
And I keep on praying baby
That when I get where I am going
You'll be showing me a blue sky roadOpen my mind
No longer blind I know I'm coming off the ground
And I open my eyes
Spread my wings to fly
I'm never coming downThe sun it will shine
And keep me dry
I'll see you at the top of that mountain
No time for goodbye
Nothing more to say

Nothing is gonna keep me from a better wayAnd I keep on thinking maybe
That when I get back on my feet again
I could climb so high that I won't feel low
And I keep on praying baby
That when I get where I am going
You'll be showing me a blue sky roadOpen my mind
No longer blind I know I'm coming off the ground
And I open my eyes
Spread my wings to fly
I'm never coming downAnd I keep on thinking maybe
That when I get back on my feet again
I could climb so high that I won't feel low
And I keep on praying baby
That when I get where I am going
You'll be showing me a blue sky roadOpen my mind
No longer blind I know I'm coming off the ground
And I open my eyes
Spread my wings to fly
I'm never coming down

Podunk is a hard rock band that formed in Port Arthur, Texas in 1992, soon thereafter establishing themselves on the scene in Austin, Texas. Similar to AC/DC and The Black Crowes in style, Podunk performed at South by Southwest in the mid-1990s and subsequently. Their CD Throwin' Bones, released in 1998, was re-released nationally by Matchbox Records in 2000, and the track "Wings" saw airplay nationwide. Podunk's songs have appeared on several of KLBJ's Local Licks Live series of recordings. They opened for Tesla on some tour dates in 2004.
