Without A Woman I Love Lyrics

I was the fastest, the first one down the mountain
Then all of the other lions, surrounded me like a fountain
But, then one day they were gone like they never came at all.
With a big golden coat and a heart still on fire
But knowing I can't run after what I still desire
See time has passed me by, like the evening sun
They always warned me my time would come.
Not long ago I was the king of the hill
The talk of the town
I was the cat they all looked up to...look at me now!
I walk the streets alone, got no pride of my own
I tried jumping, but I couldn't let go
I never hear goodnight, wake up to kisses like
I always thought I would someday when I got older
But, what good's this crown on my head
Without a woman I love resting on my shoulder?
Just a toothless lion, yeah I'm lying on my belly

One paw over the other, just looking down the valley
At all the young gazelles like I used to do then
I was the only one who couldn't stop playing
Not long ago I was the king of the hill
The talk of the town
I was the cat they all looked up to...look at me now!
I walk the streets alone, got no pride of my own
I tried jumping, but I couldn't let go
I never hear goodnight, wake up to kisses like
I always thought I would someday when I got older
But, what good's this crown on my head
Without a woman I love resting on my shoulder?
What good's this crown on my head
Without a woman I love resting on my shoulder?
