Would It Kill You? Lyrics

Would it kill you just to let it all work out?
Tryin' so hard just to break it down
All summer I didn't see it till just now, till nowSpent that summer feelin' sorry
Like I thought I'd never get
To September so I loved her
And intend to wait for itOh, things were shaping up to take a while
All that waiting, not a single smile
Oh, and it's so hardTo spend all winter
Wantin' summer like you couldn't bear the cold
Six months later
To form it like it instantly got oldOh, things were playing out just like I thought
No sense staying, bent over what's not
Oh, is it so hard?Would it kill you just to let it all work out?
Tryin' so hard just to break it down
All summer I didn't see it till just now, till nowWhen they kill you
You were letting every worthwhile breath
Just pass right through you
With each one you drew nearer to deathI've got so much on my plate

Sometimes I try not to let it drag me down, I know
Oh, everybody told me soWould it kill you just to let it all work out?
Tryin' so hard just to break it down
All summer I didn't see it till just now, till nowWould it kill you just to let it all work out?
'Cause you're tryin' so hard just to break it down
All summer I didn't see it till just now, oh, now
