Yellow Dog Lyrics

Tell me where you need to go
Kick me if I move to slow
Hear me listen with your mind
See me even if your blind
Will you walk with me right now?
Or will you talk to me this time?
I can take a way the fog
Waiting for my, for my yellow dog
Tell me about the things you hide
Trust me and I'll be by your side
Don't lie to me or to your self
Don't cry, don't lay this on the shelf
Will you walk with me right now?
Or will you talk to me this time?
I can take a way the fog
Waiting for my yellow dog
I always try to make things right though it seems to be for nothing

It's hard to accept the fact that you may not want me
Think I'll keep on treating you this way
Even though it may not change you, that's my only chance
So read my lips and listen if you can
You try to be so damn cool
Look inside and analyze yourself
But then you'll see you and me
Would you walk with me right now?
Or would you talk to me this time?
Oh, I can take a way the fog
Waiting for my yellow dog
Would you walk with me right now?
Or would you talk to me this time?
Oh, I can take a way the fog
Waiting for my, for my yellow dog

Ben Pollack (June 22, 1903 - June 7, 1971) was a drummer and bandleader from the mid 1920s through the swing era. His eye for talent led him to either discover or employ, at one time or another, musicians such as Benny Goodman, Jack Teagarden, Glenn Miller, Jimmy McPartland and Harry James. This ability earned him the nickname "Father of Swing". Born in Chicago, Illinois to a well-to-do family, Pollack was largely self taught as a drummer, and was afforded the opportunity to become the drummer for the New Orleans Rhythm Kings, a top jazz outfit, in the early 20's.
